Structural Integration in the Anatomy Trains tradition — Marshall, North Carolina
"Be easy in your harness."
Structural Integration for lasting change in posture, movement, and how you inhabit your body.
Asked, at eighty, what freedom meant to him, Robert Frost answered simply: 'It's being easy in your harness.' Ida Rolf was drawn to that phrase and brought it into the language of Structural Integration —freedom not as the absence of structure, but as a body organized well enough that carrying it takes no effort.
Structural Integration is not about fixing what’s broken.
It’s about revealing what’s already there, and helping your body find a more supportive relationship with gravity.
When unnecessary tension dissolves, energy becomes available for what matters:
- Standing with confidence
- Rising from the floor without strain
- Moving without guarding
- Trusting your body again

Our Philosophy
Wise Body is a space for deep discovery and lasting structural change.
Structural Integration is delivered through a series of intentional, progressive sessions designed to release chronic tension in the fascial system — the connective tissue that shapes posture, movement, and function.
This process helps improve:
- Structural alignment
- Chronic pain patterns
- Movement efficiency
- Core stability
- Body awareness
- Long term functional resilience. Each session builds on the last.
This is not symptom chasing. It is system-level change.
Massage therapy is also offered, a therapeutic and restorative bodywork informed by an understanding of myofascial meridians and Structural Integration is the heart of the practice.
Common Misconceptions
- Not a spa.
- Not deep tissue massage under a different name.
- Not fitness coaching.
- Not a rigid, one-size-fits-all protocol.
- Not therapy that isolates symptoms without addressing whole-body patterns.
You are not treated like a template.
WHO THIS WORK IS FOR
This work tends to resonate with people who:
- Want more than temporary relief
- Value long-term change
- Are active but navigating chronic patterns
- Are curious about how their body actually works
- Prefer collaboration over being “worked on”
COMMON PATTERNS INCLUDE:
- Chronic low back or hip pain
- Postpartum core collapse or diastasis-recti
- Scoliosis, asymmetry, hypermobility
- Athletic compensation cycles
- Desk-related postural strain
- Recovery from injury or repetitive stress
Many clients arrive after massage, PT, chiropractic, or surgical consults, often surprised by how adaptable their structure still is.
THE EXPERIENCE:
Structural Integration is a guided re-education process.
It helps reconnect you to your internal compass… the innate intelligence that already knows how to organize efficiently.
The series unfolds as a journey and not imposed change, but discovered change.
